{Ceramics, mugs}
I am a retired physics teacher who grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I became interested in ceramics and started making mugs decorated with live plant material. I have also been fascinated with the Mandelbrot Set for many years. I find the Mandelbrot Set extraordinary, and in some inexplicable way to have deep meaning for me. As I retired I became interested in clay and items that can be created from clay. This site is a place for me to record and display my joining of these interests.
I am very interested in nature, flowers, trees and plants in general. I sometimes use plant material and other objects found in nature to decorate what I make. I generally prefer to make items that can be used: mugs. plates, bowls etc.
For some of my work I take Mandelbrot images and apply various mathematical filters and create a design which I then printout directly on the clay with a customized 3d printer.
